Greetings from Skyworld, 2020, machinima HD video, 1920 x 1080, 57 secs.

She Falls for Ages, a movie I created in 2017, is a sci-fi retelling of the Haudenosaunee creation story. According to oral tradition, Skyworld is the origin place of the human race. It is usually depicted as a pre-contact Iroquoia, whose people live in wooden longhouses, wearing animal skins and using clay pots.

I wanted to imagine Skyworld as a far-away, technically advanced, planet; a peaceful world where skin colour doesn’t matter. Thus, its people have either pink, orange, blue, green, purple or yellow skin.  In the creation story, Skyworld is headed for doom when a brave woman decides to journey to another world—Earth!—to save the race.

Greetings from Skyworld is a short, looping machinima without dialogue, that imagines that that far away planet did not explode, but was somehow saved, and its people—our ancestors—wish to let us know that they are alright, and that they are still connected to us.
